Shelton Performing Arts Center is a wonderful home for our Mason County Concert Association

live productions. Visitors and season pass holders return each year for a new schedule of exciting and entertaining performances. Our guests appreciate the facility’s comfort, acoustic quality, and inviting casual atmosphere. It’s a welcoming environment, perfect for relaxing and enjoying live music concerts and events.

Shelton Performing Arts Center is on the Shelton High School campus. Our collaboration with the school serves a dual purpose. It’s a wonderful space with easy access for local and regional visitors. The location is also convenient for our production technician and his students, who provide valuable backstage support.

Our Technician Behind The Scenes

Guests don’t usually notice the technical expertise that keeps our productions on track. Still, our technician and his student production assistants are always in the background. They remain out of sight while seamlessly managing critical stage, background, and house features during every live performance.

Student Production Assistants

Our technician teaches Entertainment Production as one of Shelton High School’s Career & Tech Education Courses. Students enrolled in the program participate in classes and real-world production experiences.

They develop a full range of capabilities, including audio engineering, light show design, software use, equipment design and repair, and other essential skills. Through these hands-on opportunities, they learn to master the behind-the-scenes expertise we rely on when presenting live performances.

Entertainment Production students become members of Shelton Performing Arts Center’s stagecraft crew. In these roles, they help control the tools that enhance Mason County Concert Association’s live productions. Students help manage technologically-advanced systems, overseeing sound, stage lights, house lighting, video production, fog machines, and other devices. They control multiple production elements, with a focus on giving audiences an overall exciting experience.

The Venue

The Shelton Performing Arts Center is on Shelton Springs Road on the Shelton High School campus. The auditorium is an intimate, yet spacious setting with seating for over 700 people. The foyer and main floor seating area have wheelchair accessibility. Cushioned seats allow guests to settle in, relax, and remain comfortable while they enjoy the performance.

Guests enjoy light refreshments after each event.

Information For Performers

Artists may be interested in knowing a little more about our venue. The stage has a beautiful wooden floor with dimensions that can accommodate groups, instruments, or a theater cast. The orchestra pit is carpeted and recessed slightly below the main floor level. It also has an available ClearCom communication system. The center provides two dressing rooms for performers’ pre-show preparations. Each room has multiple makeup stations.
